  Call for Abstracts:

    Radiologists, Faculties, Residents, Medical Physicist are invited to submit abstracts of their scientific paper for oral and poster presentation for SAARC congress of Radiology 2012 (SCR-2012).

The paper can be accepted under any of the following headings:

• Neuroradiology
• Chest and Cardiovascular Radiolog
• Hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal
• Women’s Imaging including obstetrics
• Breast Imaging
• Small Parts Imaging
• Musculoskeletal Radiology
• Pediatric Radiology
• Genitourinary Radiology
• Vascular and Interventional Radiology
• PET, Oncology
• Technological Advances (Elastography, Contrast, Fusion etc)
• Medical Physics, Radiation Hazards and Safety
• Radiography
• Doppler
• Head and Neck Imaging
• Nuclear Medicine
• Emergency Radiology

• 15th December 2011

Guidelines for submitting abstracts

1. Please send your abstract through online submission and any other means for abstract submission will not be considered for acceptance.

2. Following details should be mentioned in the content of abstract.

          (a) Purpose

          (b) Materials and methods

          (c) Result

          (d) Conclusion

          (e) References

       3. In any case the content should not exceed 300 words.

       4. The last date for submitting the abstract is 15th December 2011.

       5. Acceptance of the paper will be notified by 31st December 2011.

       6. Please check the website for date, time and venue of presentation of the accepted paper.

       7. The presenting author must be registered.

       8. No certificate for any oral scientific presentation/poster exhibit would be given if It is not presented in the conference.

       9. The decision of scientific committee will be final.

Selection for award category presentation:

Residents and junior faculty (under 3 yrs of Post Graduate in Radiology) are eligible for award (SAARC Fellowship)

  • SAARC Fellowship would include reimbursement of delegate Registration fees, Accommodation charges, certificate and prize (cash).
  • In each category best 3 in each group oral, poster, ePoster will be selected by the team of judges

Guidelines for making the presentation

(a) The presentation must be in the power point format (MS office 2007).

(b) The slides should preferably have blue background with yellowish/white character.

(c) The font size of the header in each slide should at least be 32.

(d) The font size of text in the body of slide should at least be 20.

(e) Abbreviate your message and limit the number of words you put on a slide.

(f) Avoid large text paragraphs.                  

(g) Time for presentation is 8/min+ 2/min for discussion. Please make sure that you finish the       presentation in allotted time.

(h) Please submit your final presentation one day before the time of presentation. Please recheck your presentation once it is loaded into the conference network.

Guidelines for Poster Presentation:

• Posters should be no larger than 1000mm wide x 1000mm high. Posters larger than these dimensions will exceed the board size; it is therefore necessary that the poster adhere to the specified measurements.

• Graphs/Photographs:  For visual effect, it is recommended that graphs be no smaller than 12cm x 18cm.

Guidelines for e-Poster presentation:

• All posters will be accepted in MS power point (office 2007).
• The slides should preferably have a blue background with yellow/white characaters.
• The font size of the header in each slide should be at least 32.
• The font size of text in the body of side should be at least 20.
• Abbreviate your message and limit the no of words you put on a slide.
• Avoid large text paragraphs.
• Maximum number of slides allowed is 20 including the title and the summary.
• Prior submission of your power point presentation files is compulsory.

  1. When you arrive at the venue please visit the registration desk and pick up your personal envelope and materials required for the chairpersonship of your session (Final session program, CVs).
  2. You are required to arrive at the session room at least before 5 minutes before the sessions begins and to announce your arrival to the room assistant to check together with him/her how timing devices and audio-visual equipments operate. If you encounter any problems (sound, microphones, monitor, etc.), instruct the room assistant to contact the appropriate person.
  3. Please check the program book for any changes or updates of your session. If a presentation has been withdrawn or speakers does not appear, you may rearrange the order of presentations.
  4. Chairperson should inform the speakers of the time allotted to him/her, but you can adjust the allotted time at your discretion as long as you finish your session in time.

Conducting the session

  1. Explain the allocation time for the session.
  2. Introduce briefly the session and speakers.(you may ask the speaker to introduce himself/herself , if his/her CV is not prepared.
  3. Do not hesitate to inform the speaker that the allotted time is running out.
  4. If a speaker ends early or does not attend, use that extra time for question and comments from the audience or yourself
  5. End on time. ( if there are presentations canceled or speakers do not appear, you can finish the session earlier than scheduled.)
