Founder of RSSC

The ideology of establishing regional cooperation amongst the closely linked South Asian Nations was by itself a watershed of great significance. The founder Nations rightly decided at the outset to built the new edific step by step,so that the Cultural, Social, economic and Scientific values can be shared with trust and understanding. The establishment of Radiological society of SAARC Countries (RSSC) is yet another step to further the foundation of the scientific bond amongst SAARC Countries.

RSSC was established in 1998 and became recognized body of SAARC in 2002.
Its headoffice is located in Kathmandu, Nepal.

 Dr S.K Agrawal (India) and Dr T.B Budhathoki (Nepal) were the founder president and secretary general of RSSC.
The initial meeting were held in Kathmandu and the consistution of RSSC was developed. In 2004 meeting and CME programme was held in Agra, India. SACOR conference was held in 2008 in Kathmandu, Nepal as an International event. Since then 2nd (2008), 3rd (2009) and 4th (2010) congress were held in Pakistan, Srilanka and Nagpur India respectively.

 The scope of Radiological Society of SAARC countries covers all aspect of radiological sciences, bringing together professionals related to diagnostic radiology, oncology, nuclear medicine, medical physics and all other allied sciences.

The SAARC Congress is a continuation of the educational and scientific activity .

 The scientific programme, developed by a Scientific Committee, will ensure that all the aspects of radiology will be covered during the conference. Cutting-edge research in the field will be presented by prestigious speakers in plenary lectures.

The congress also presents a unique opportunity for stimulating interaction, not just for radiologists, but also for practicioners and other health care professionals who can profit from exchange of information provided in numerous scientific sessions.

MEMBER COUNTRIES - National societies of India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives, Srilanka, Pakistan and Afganistan.
